For the 3rd edition of Project Controls Expo in Australia, we will be hosting a series of specialist workshops for Building Information Modeling (BIM) as well as Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA).

Schedule:

Tuesday 29th November
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) Workshop
    • 09:00 - 12:30 (morning session)
  • Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) Workshop
    • 14:05 - 16:50 (afternoon session)

Limited places available – Advance bookings required.

Full workshops content:

This workshop will provide participants a practical introduction to Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis and is suited to those who want to be introduced to it, or have recently started their journey into Schedule Risk Analysis. Participants will ideally have a basic to mid-level understanding of scheduling and risk management concepts.
The workshop will be hands-on and practical, participants will be required to bring their own PC’s and will be provided with links to trial a leading SRA software tool used on their own PC’s. The workshop will also provide worked example data to demonstrate the SRA process from inputs, and analysis through to production outputs.
Participants will understand how schedule risk analysis can be applied on projects to analyse, report and manage
time-related risks.
The workshop will cover:
  • Introduction and Overview of Schedule Risk Analysis
  • Understanding SRA inputs – Schedule, Risks and Impacts
  • Understanding and Interpreting SRA Outputs
  • Scenarios and Advanced Analysis Topics
  • Wrap Up + Q&A

The workshop will be hands-on and practical. Registered participants will be provided with an extended trial of a leading SRA software tool used on their own PC’s. The workshop will also provide sample data to demonstrate the SRA process from inputs, and analysis through to production outputs.

Digital Planning in action – see how digital workflows could fundamentally change the way that we plan projects, voice your opinion and participate in an honest debate to decide whether it is hype or game-changing.

In this workshop, the facilitator will create a 5000 + line-item schedule for an infrastructure project from scratch that is quantity-driven, resource-loaded and resources levelled in under 45 min.

The outputs will also be produced in P6, Excel, PowerBI, 4D and time chainage format

Workshop participants will be given a demonstration of how digital workflows and algorithmic schedules can be used on real-world projects to produce accurate and granular schedules in a fraction of the time compared to traditional methods.

Participants will attend a live demonstration of a digital-based planning workflow for an infrastructure project. After the demonstration, there will be a Q&A session for attendees to ask questions and have an honest debate on the benefits of digital workflows for planning and scheduling.

The workshop will cover:
  • Infrastructure
  • planning and scheduling
  • BIM
  • 4D
  • PowerBI
  • Time chainage
  • p6
  • Microsoft project.

Delegates will understand the benefits of using digital methods for planning and scheduling by seeing a live demonstration of the process in action.
