Ewen Maclean, Eur Ing MEng (Hons) MSc (Const. Law & Arb) CEng FICE FCIArb, Construction Practice Leader, Berkeley Research Group
Ewen is an experienced expert in the field of programming; delay and disruption; and associated prolongation costs in relation to construction and engineering projects. In particular, he has worked for both international consultants and contractors and has first-hand experience of assisting and representing clients in litigation, arbitration, mediation and adjudication, both for the claimant and respondent. He has prepared numerous expert witness reports; drafted standard forms of contract and lectured on various commercial and contractual subjects within the construction industry. Ewen has also acted in commercial negotiations and settlements, resolving potential disputes as well as providing advice on contract procurement. Ewen is well versed in many of the standard forms of construction contract including the NEC, JCT, ICE, FIDIC, GC Works Conditions as well as bespoke forms of contracts including PFI contracts and has worked on contracts that span, inter alia, major building, civil engineering, oil and gas, mechanical and electrical, pharmaceutical, infrastructure including highways and rail as well as fit-out works.
Franco Pittoni
Franco has Overall Planning & Project Controls experience in excess of 42 years with proven records of problems solving capabilities and sound experience is setting up complex Planning & Project Controls solutions satisfying all stakeholders’ requirements in a sustainable manner. He also has proven ability to convert complex subject matters in simple and clear ones, familiar with all the projects lifecycle stages (Design, Procurement, Construction - Testing & Commissioning, Hand-Over and O&M), worked for Engineers, Consultants, Contractors and as a Client’s Representative. His area of knowledge includes, Planning-Project Controls / Project & Programme management, specifically: Scope management , Time management, o Cost management, Risk management, EV & Reporting. He also has extensive experience in BIM focusing Multi departmental collaboration (Designers – Cost Managers – Planners & Project Controllers – Asset Managers), Integration management, Information management (Common language – Coding), Data exchange management and Asset Management (O&M)
Ian Heaphy is a Director in Turner & Townsends Contract Services Team. Ian specialises in the development and implementation of innovative procurement strategies with particular expertise around target cost / cost reimbursable contracts for major programmes of work.
Ian has over 20 years’ experience across the industry, including oil & gas, water, aviation, rail, highways, building and ports. He has been involved with the NEC for over 15 years and has supported government departments, major clients and international contractors deliver the benefits of the NEC forms of contract. Ian frequently speaks at industry events and has had numerous articles published in construction journals. Ian also acts as an adjudicator and quantum Expert Witness.
Jason Matthews is an engineer and his experience of working on construction sites from the early part of his professional career has exposed him to all aspects of the capital projects lifecycle. For the last decade, he has been helping organisations to deliver business efficiencies, focusing especially on integrating key document and information management processes. Designing and building solutions for clients such as GE Oil & Gas, CH2MHill, and CB & I, Jason and his team are driving the digital agenda to enable paperless construction by solving complex document management challenges and delivering precision integration requirements involving key systems and technologies such as Oracle Primavera products.
John K. Hollmann PE CCP CEP DRMP (jhollmann@validest.com)
John has over 35 years of experience, including all practice areas of cost engineering and project control including empirically-based risk quantification. As owner of Validation Estimating LLC (www.validest.com) since 2005, John helps owner companies improve their Cost Engineering capabilities. Previously, he managed the downstream cost and schedule metrics and research programs of Independent Project Analysis, Inc. (IPA). John is a Fellow and Life Member of AACE International and recipient of AACE’s highest honor at the time--the Award of Merit. He was primary author of AACE’s Total Cost Management (TCM) Framework; An Integrated Approach to Portfolio, Program and Project Management and also led the development of AACE’s Decision and Risk Management Professional (DRMP) certification.
Laurent Jacquemain is an experienced sales professional in IT with over 25 years experience in enterprise sales, global sales management and international channel management especially in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
In the past ten years, he helped multi-national organizations in Oil & Gas and Petrochemicals, Natural resources and Mining, Utilities, Engineering & Construction, Aerospace and Defence and Industrial Manufacturing, Transportation and Public sector in improving projects control, project performance and efficiency through the implementation of leading applications and best practices.

Mervyn George is the EMEA Solutions Consulting Manager for EcoSys, the global standard for enterprise project controls software. Mervyn has 13 years of experience assisting customers with architecting software and services solutions across the ERP, CRM, data management and governance, and project controls domains. At EcoSys, Mervyn consults with the world’s leading project-driven organisations within Oil & Gas, Engineering & Construction, Utilities, Government, Mining & Natural Resources, Aerospace & Defense, and Transportation to provide direction for implementing best practices to plan and manage project portfolios, control project costs, and improve project performance.
Preet Bhuller B.Eng. (Hons) MSc in Engineering Management. – Managing Consultant – BMT Hi-Q Sigma Ltd.
An Engineer and a Programme Management Consultant, Preet joined BMT Defence Services Ltd in 2001 as a Mechanical Engineer, progressed on to Risk & Safety Management for BMT ISIS in 2004 and joined BMT Hi-Q Sigma as a Programme Managing Consultant (Project & Risk) in 2006. He has over 12 years of supporting the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in the following disciplines: Programme Management, Earned Value Management (EVM), Risk Management, Project Assurance. Preet is currently the EVM Lead on what is the Army’s highest priority new equipment programme, a multi-billion pound Armoured Vehicles Programme (AVP) Scout Vehicles (SV). In addition to B.Eng. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc in Engineering Management, Preet is ILM (Institute of Leadership & Management) Level 2 & Level 3 qualified, SSMO (MoD Ship Safety Management) qualified, Earned Value Management and Managing Successful Projects (MSP) Practitioner. Preet is also a collector of rare vinyl records from the 90s.
Stephen Jones is the Chairman of the APM Planning, Monitoring and Control Specific Interest Group. He is a Registered Project Professional, and a chartered Electrical Engineer. His Project Management experience comes from the Nuclear Industry, where he is currently a Project Manager at Sellafield Ltd working for the Major Project directorate.
Sellafield Ltd is the company responsible for safely delivering decommissioning of the UK’s nuclear legacy as well as fuel recycling and the management of low, high and intermediate level nuclear waste activities on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. Sellafield Ltd has sites at Sellafield in West Cumbria. Engineering, design and functional support capability are provided by employees based at their Risley office, near Warrington.
In addition Stephen is a lecturer at the University of Warwick, and a Supervisor on the Worked based Learning Masters Degree in Professional Engineering at Aston University and Kingston University London. He mentors, Project Managers and Engineers in various industries, including Rail, Petrochemical, Manufacturing, Nuclear and conventional power generation both here in the UK and Indonesia.
Steve Norris was a Conservative Member of Parliament for Oxford East and then Epping Forest from 1983 to 1997. He was Parliamentary Private Secretary in the Departments of Environment, Trade & Industry and the Home Office and in 1992 was appointed Minister for Transport with a special responsibility for all London transport. After retiring from Parliament he was twice his party’s candidate for Mayor of London outperforming the national party substantially on both occasions. He is a former Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Party.
Steve has combined a career in politics with a business career in the fields of property, infrastructure and transportation. He is currently Chairman of BNP Paribas Real Estate UK and of Soho Estates. He is also Chairman of Virtus Data Centres. He is a Non-Executive Director of Excel the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company conference centre in East London. He has been a member of the Boards of both Transport for London and the London Development Agency and recently served on the Treasury’s Growth Task Force for HS2. He is on the Board of Cubic Corporation, the developers and managers of the London Oyster card. Having a particular interest in infrastructure he chairs the National Infrastructure Planning Association which works with government to improve the planning regime around major projects and advises a number of clients on major schemes.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Companion of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and an Honorary Fellow of the Project Managers Association.

Getting to Emirates Stadium is simple, London’s comprehensive public transport system will take you within a few minutes walk of the ground where clearly located pedestrian signs will help you find your way on-street.
Important Notes : – Upon reaching the Emirates Stadium (via options listed above), please head towards the West entrance of the stadium as shown in map (coming soon). The west stand faces Hornsey Road. Upon reaching at west entrance, you will be required to climb stairs to head towards “Highbury”. At the Ground floor of Highbury, there is small reception desk with the main on Level 1. There are stairs and escalators to access Level 1.
Both Arsenal and Holloway Road Stations (Piccadilly Line) are around three minutes walk from the ground. Finsbury Park (Victoria / Piccadilly Lines and overground rail) and Highbury & Islington (Victoria Line, North London Line, overground rail) stations are around 10 minutes walk from Emirates Stadium.
We recommend “Holloway Road Station (Piccadilly Line)” considering it is nearest to West stand where the event is taking place. Please see map (coming soon) for more clear guidance. After you get out of Holloway road station, turn right and immediately turn left at signal crossing. You can see "Arsenal football club" signposting at this crossing junction. This brings you at "Hornsey road".. Keep walking on Hornsey road for 100 yards and Arsenal stadium's west entrance will be just in front of you. Just climb the stairs leads to expo reception .
Buses are fast and convenient with connections passing the ground on all sides. Main bus stops are located on Holloway Road, Nag's Head, Seven Sisters Road, Blackstock Road and Highbury Corner. Direct, high frequency services from much of north and central London travel within five minutes walk of the ground.
For our international visitors, nearest airport is London Heathrow which is well connected via extensive rail connections from Paddington (16 mins by train from Heathrow).
There are plenty of accommodation options around Arsenal stadium. For your convenience, please see below the contact details of some the hotels locally who will be glad to offer you corporate rates to attend the event. While booking, please state the name and date of the event along with location i.e., Emirates Stadium:
Exhibitors can set up their stands one night before i.e., on 17th Nov 2014 from 18:00hrs - 21:00hrs. They can also send the courier with their items to the stadium (address above) upto 2 days in advance and also can pick up their exhibits upto 1 day post event from the stadium.
Please ensure that all deliveries are clearly marked with the name, function suite and date of the event. All packages that are due to be collected should be left in the room post event and clearly marked with a contact name, return address and contact number. These packages will then be held in our secure storage until they are collected. Please ask all couriers to deliver/pick up between business hours 9.00-17.00. Due to a limited amount of storage, any packages that have not been collected within 28 days of the final day of your event will be at risk of being discarded
There is limited parking available in the stadium, but exhibitors are welcome to drive in to drop off/collect. We will require the driver name and vehicle registration of any car driving in to the stadium. Access is via the Queensland Road address (see map above) . Pedestrian entry is the Highbury West Entrance between turnstiles A & S.
